OVERRATED
Still rooting for Fassy though. Sorry Leto.
The rant continues with the supporting categories. Best Supporting ActorI'm glad he got nominated. I wasn't expecting it but it was a pleasant surprise. He was amazing in Captain Phillips and I'm still in awe that it's his first time acting. Tom Hanks popped his acting cherry.....aww....doesn't get any sweeter than that. On a side note: Suraj Sharma from Life of Pi should have been nominated last year since he's in a similar boat (no pun intended) as Barkhad Abdi Still a well deserved nomination. Will he win? Probably not but I wouldn't be mad if he did. He shouldn't even be here.........he seriously shouldn't even be here. Not for THIS. For Place Beyond the Pines, maybe but DEFINITELY NOT FOR THIS!!! I'm going to use the O word, here it comes . . . . . . . . OVERRATED Okay....I'm a little torn about this. I loved Jonah in Wolf of Wall Street. He did great things with that role and I wouldn't have minded him taking Bradley Cooper's slot, but you stole Daniel Bruhl's much deserved nomination!!! If you're not familiar with Daniel Bruhl, you should be. He was AMAZING in Rush. Had Bruhl been nominated, I would be rooting for him over Fassbender and Leto anyday. He was freaking BRILLIANT in his role. Alas, campaigning comes to play again as Jonah campaigned his I'm-doing-so-many-better-movies ass into this nomination spot. I'm happy for you Jonah but you know you're not going to win. Maybe next time dude! Don't go stealing people's spots!!! So if I had a choice in the matter, Michael Fassbender will take the cake. I thought he was just awesome as Epps. Epps is a despicable, deplorable, egotistical, narcissistic, pig of a man and Fassy did one heck of a job with that character. It was dark, sadistic, and probably not the easiest role in the world to play. Michael deserves to win in my opinion. I also have mad respect for him because he refused to campaign. Good on you Michael!!! A good performance should be based on that alone, not how well you sway votes your way. What's the point of an award ceremony if you're being judged on how sociable you are? Jared Leto is a social butterfly and that's why he's leaps and bounds ahead of the curve (his performance helps too though). If Jared and Michael were on even grounds (no campaigning whatsoever), I think it could have gone either way. Gosh this is a beautiful man and he made a beautiful woman too. I'm a little upset, jealous, and disturbed that he made a prettier woman than me. So it's pretty safe to assume he'll be adding Academy Award Winner to his title. I thought he did an amazing job in Dallas Buyers Club. If you've been following me from the beginning, you know that I've panned the movie and Matthew McConaughey. Jared Leto however, was phenomenal. He truly lost himself in the role and the transformation was astounding. So yeah, he's going to win and yeah he'll deserve it, and yeah he'll still always be a prettier woman than I'll ever be. He's also one hell of a campaigner but at least he earned the right to campaign (unlike McConaughey). Still rooting for Fassy though. Sorry Leto. Best Supporting ActressI haven't watched Blue Jasmine (I know worst reviewer ever) but really does it matter? We all know it's down to two ladies in this category. However I decided to do a little research and used YouTube as my database to find some Sally Hawkins clips from Blue Jasmine. I can see why she got nominated. Good on you girl! Frankly Sally's nominated role is way juicier than JLaw's. I'm glad she got nominated. If she chooses another great project, she has the potential to win in the near future. I love you Jennifer Lawrence. You're one of my favorite people in Hollywood. She doesn't take herself too seriously and stays humble throughout all of her success. That being said, she shouldn't have been nominated for American Hustle. I'm not faulting her acting chops here, she's still a great actress, the role is just not sink-your-teeth-into enough to be nominated. Katniss Everdeen is a meatier role than Rosalyn. I'm glad you won last year but it's time to pass the torch sweetie. As a fan, I wouldn't mind it if she won, but I know it just wouldn't be for the right reasons. You're still awesome though Jen, don't ever change!! You're the bomb at photo-bombs Don't shoot me, I still haven't watched Nebraska, but go old people! Oh Lupita you dear soul you, you deserve that Oscar more than anyone. It's pretty clear to me who should go home with Mr.Oscar on Sunday night. Again here we have someone's first movie role ever and she knocks it out of the park all the way to the streets and onward towards the next park. Nobody else in this category is more worthy than Lupita. I'm rooting for you girl! Eat the fish bitch!! Oh God I loved her in this role. She was so funny and heart-felt at the same time. I was pretty happy when she got nominated. She's my second favorite to win this. I went in to watch the movie for Benedict Cumberbatch (yup Cumberbitch in the house) but I walked away thinking about Julia Robert's performance. She wasn't just a supporting role, she took the lead and even stole scenes from Meryl Streep. If you can make throwing plates around worthy of an Oscar nomination, you have talent my friend!

Why everybody is rooting for Lupita. Just because she's new. I write my reason why she shouldn't win over and over again and I'll write it again now. Every actress who's good and talented and who would fit the character of Patsey would make the character the same as Lupita made it but Jennifer is the only one who would make Rosalyn the way she is and no one else. That's why she should win but she won't and it's just because of a movie and because of people and because of Hollywood. They just can't let Jen win it twice in a row. And that's why I'll never be a fan of Hollywood.

Hey there. First of all, thanks for checking out the blog. Second, I'm glad you love movies as much as you do. Although our opinions may differ, I appreciate a fellow movie lover when I see one.
